The new apple TV is shipping in the next week or so has Bluetooth 5.0. Hope this does away with the 2 connection limit.

Hi Tom, I have spotty wireless coverage in my garage, where my trainer lives. But I do have easy access to an ethernet cable. I’d like to hook up my AppleTv 4k via ethernet cable to solve the spotty wireless issue but cannot figure out how to get Zwift to talk to my AppleTv because it says they need to be on the same wireless channel. How can I get Zwift to talk to my AppleTv if it is wired directly to an ethernet connection? Or can I even do that? Thanks!

Tom,
Following your video tutorial on how to connect additional Bluetooth devices for Zwift using Companion, this worked perfectly for me.
Just recently however, this method no longer works and you don’t get prompted with a. Screen to use Companion but rather you are prompted to ignore a device.
It now you have to use all devices on Companion or only 2 on Apple TV. The “bridge” mode seems to be gone.
Have you seen this and do you have any advice here?

Hi Tom,

Do you have to reconnect that extra cadence sensor each time you start Zwift or does Zwift remember that it was connected with Companion app?

In reply to Johan. No Problem. The Bluetooth/Wahoo set up absolutely drove me crazy until I figured it out. Just FYI you might not have the same issues with the Tacx Neo or Elite trainers. Both those trainers calculate cadence and send the info with the power information into one slot.

Thank you for solving my smart trainer bluetooth connection issues using Apple TV 4K once and for all. No more missing training sessions because I can’t get something to connect or when it does connect it only stays connected for a few seconds until the dreaded ‘no signal’.

Your solution to pairing Apple TV with Zwift with three devices was right on. I had been using trial and error to make the connections and did not know how I was achieving the results. Now, everything works and quickly which provides more time for Zwifting. Thanks again.
